The Queen Elizabeth pulled into port early this morning. We let her settle in & disgorge passengers as we scuttled off to run errands elsewhere.
We wound up having an early lunch at one of our favorite food trucks, L'authentique. Shared a burger-poutine and a mushroom-Swiss hamburger and used our bamboo utensil travel kits. It's nice to say 'please keep your plastic forks'!
Driving one of the extra little loops I like to take on the way home, we spotted an osprey in a tree beside the causeway road at Esquimalt Lagoon. We stopped and watched him eat his fish for lunch.
When we got home the Ovation of the Seas was also docked so I walked over for a closer look. Crews were conduction life-boat inspections/maintenance and people were taking rides in the top deck crane-arm gondola lift! A bald eagle was also watching from its perch atop one of the light standards.
Work is almost completed on a new ramp intended to funnel all of the foot traffic from the ships directly onto the sidewalk on our street.
