Heading for the Sooke area, we stopped at Fry's to pick up a couple of snacks. The baker's assistant seemed to be in full control. As is often the case, when it is sunny & warm getting there, the areas close to the water are cool & foggy. Stopped at the start of fossil beach to eat.
As a diversion on the way home we followed the signs to a sea salt evaporator up Otter Road. They use some solar powered techniques as well as propane gas to power the operation. Right in Sooke is a splendid little place - Ed Macgregor park.
