Walked through Ogden Point to Fonyo Beach. One cruise ship docked. It seems like a never ending process to repair the sea-wall. Lots of California poppies in bloom and several Great blue herons hunting in the shallows at low tide.
Canada geese everywhere about town today. They have a mob/herd philosophy of taking care of young Families. Young of all ages in a group protected by multiple parents.
One of our favorite food trucks was on location today, so it as burger/poutine for lunch - took it to Esquimalt Lagoon for a picnic. The soaring raptor is a turkey-vulture. The mountains looked crisp today. We walked down to Fisherman's Wharf for lunch - Fish taco for me & an oyster taco for Jan. Strolled the Inner Harbour walk, now David Foster Harbour Pathway, to look at the roses along the way. Came home by way of the new James Bay Library, and found a copy of a book written by a daughter of the aforementioned David Foster. The skies were clear and the Olympic Mountains seemed close. Breakfast biscuit sandwich and a large double cream at Timmies. Stroll through the spring blossoms at Butchart Gardens. Things with wings, and without, at Victoria Butterfly Gardens. Monster burger at Chuck's in Sidney for lunch. Bonus - bald eagle cruising low overhead on the way to the car from the cafe. Winds off the water lead us to change our plan to sit & digest at one of our beaches. Relaxed at home for the rest of the day. Well, it WAS a good day out!
One of the pack (Canis rusticus) of rusty metal sculptures in an Oak Bay park.
