Views of our glass-works from outside.
AKA our bedrooms balcony. An assortment of my creations over a bunch of years.
Oh, and a hummingbird at our feeder, because we likes the little hummers! Variations on a usual ride. I got across the new bridge to Point Hope Shipyard and decided to turn around & go back across. The new pedestrian part of the bridge is almost ready to open!
For the first time, I rode up Fort Street, on the new dedicated 2way bike lanes. I did feel safer, but I still checked at each intersection to made sure cars were not going to turn into me regardless of the bike lane green light. From the end of the new path I went down residential street to get to Beacon Hill Park and was rewarded with a free concert at the Stage. I'm not sure what the red flowering little tree is. I have decided on a hexagon shape and have soldered the panels together. Now I have to ponder how I am going to finish it. Might work on a copper pipe frame for it.
Friday walk through the cruise ship terminal & out to the breakwater lighthouse.
Is there a way to weigh the anchor? Save the salmon --> save the Orcas! Food trucks gearing up for the Friday evening Breakwater Barge Party. Snail hell left after some critter had a fair sized feast. Boats & ships coming past the lighthouse into the harbour. The last pic is just to show the kind of A-hole tourist I don't want on my street! Fire hydrant? Huh? Early morning and the air quality seems much improved today. Good time to visit the Gardens before the tourist buses start to disgorge the mingling masses.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 full size tablet this summer but have only used it for occasional picture taking. Today, I decided to practice with it. I still prefer to use a camera-camera, but with a little concentration I can make the tablet do an adequate job. So, without further ado, I present Roses Dahlias & More! More than enough to go around, so I don't mind if anyone knows where my favorite patch is located. This is an excellent year for them.
Except it's not mist. it's smoke from forest fires, but you get the picture!
(Please don't be put off by the fact that the picture looks like it needs to be rotated. It does, but Weebly does it automatically when you click on the pic. One of the latest "improvements" that the company has made that I have no control over. Sorry!) Remember the huge bargain I found at Vinnies? It was a stained glass hanging lamp for under 10 dollars.
Well, I really did not need any more glass lamps in my house so I took it all apart. De-constructed, if you will. Now I am playing with recombination ideas to turn the panels into a window piece or maybe a transom. |
