Dusk is the time for me to walk down to the harbour to watch the fireworks that are the traditional end to the Victoria Symphony Splash. I got pictures of the area, but ran out of camera card memory just as the fireworks started, so I sat back & just enjoyed the spectacle. Oh, this year the souvenir light toy is WAY cooler than the one I got last year!
We tried a new food stall situated on the Lochside Trail at Michell Farms market. Ripped out the metal soffits in the sun-room, and insulated, in preparation for the coming professional renovation.
Clear skies & an excellent view of Mount Baker from the 'n' R Diner parking lot in Saanichton. Notice how perspective makes Jan's burger seen so much smaller than mine? ;)
After lunch I checked the next crop of peas at Marsh Farms. Cruise ships seen from anglers' boat ramp. Coast Guard rusty buoy. David Foster Way improvement plans. A very well insulated little car - re: Sun-room home reno project.
Dropped off some no-longer-needed things at WIN (Women In Need) shop - nice mural on the side of their building. Then on to cruise the aisles at the Quadra Village Thrift Store (Salvos to my Aussie friends). Walked upon a way-marker on the sidewalk (er, footpath, again for Australian speaking folks). Google was good to me with more info here www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM47N6_Mollys_Original_Cake_Shop_Manhole_Cover_Victoria_BC
A picture of my last glass project as seen in daytime from outside. Afternoon relaxing at Saxe Point Park after lunching on poutine from La Belle Patate. Views of Fisguard Lighthouse, Olympic Mountains, and a mirage on the far shore. When I'm driving, I seldom notice things like this fountain a Uptown. We parked at Save-On & walked across the road today. So, there you go!
Bike ride up Lochside Trail as far as Lochside School. Good day for a road trip up Island to get together with holidaying family. Met them at the cabin they rented in Bowser - water view & pebble beach. Went for lunch at the fish & chips place at Deep Bay. Stopped at a shop/gallery/library combo on the highway near Qualicum, and then at the salvage yard at Bowser. WOW, what a bonanza of RUST!
Tide was out as we went past Parksville, so we stopped for a walk. Still made it home before full dark. It was a Baker view day a Island View today.
Stumbled upon a vintage & collectables market between there & Marsh Farms. Next crop of peas has a long way to go. Bees are loving the onion blossoms - can't quite imagine the taste of the honey! Plumbing skills & beading wire to frame & hang 2 glass panels to complete my sun-room window screen.
Evening walk to Ogden Point - discovered a hot-rod show going on in the cruise ship terminal parking lot.. |
