Not too scary. Kinda low-key, actually. Worked in my glass shop. Good progress. Passed on a neighbor's garage/driveway party & just watched The Rock Horror Picture Show, as is my annual tradition.

What I find really spooky is all the Christmas @^%$@% already happening before Halloween! Or remembrance Day, for that matter! Sheeesh. (Picture grumpy-face here.) And don't even get me started on the TV network that is already showing Christmas movies daily until whenever...
To paraphrase: To everything there is a season, and it ain't freaken Christmastime, yet! Rant over. Does that title sound adventurous & amazing? That was my intent. The real adventure is travelling anywhere & minimizing pandemic risks. Contacts are extremely limited, but I HAD to deliver a stained glass Orca (AKA Killer Whale) to Barb & John in Nanoose Bay, and a stained glass poppy to Jeannette & Johnny in Qualicum Beach. Short, but good visits - home before dark!
Not as many flowers blooming as in Spring or Summer, but the fall foliage shades make up for it. Feeling privileged with membership AND proximity!
Also visited Marsh Farms for one last Fall Gold Raspberry picking. The last pic collage - Two crows were posing on the load of jack-o-lantern pumpkins on the antique truck on the roof of The Root Cellar! My old whirly-kaleidoscope sun-catcher gets a new temporary home to try on. We walked around Laurel Point. Sky was dismal, but the tree colors were good. Pondering making another transom-style glass art piece. these tea plates were in consideration in the early plans for the one I just finished. I think a simpler, smaller transom might hang nicely in the other recently replaced window. I'll sleep on the concept & see if I find inspiration.
Transom project complete! Finished cutting, grinding & fitting, taping, & soldering pieces together. And, after some consultations, Jan hung it up. (Or is that hanged it?)
The project has gone from concept to almost half completed.
I am pleased and I say to myself (and Jan) 'I still got it!' A knack for glass, that is. One of the most difficult cuts in glass is an inside curve. If the crack goes wrong, the glass breaks into the part that is to be kept. (As in 'Oh, poop! throw that in the scrap-bin and start over.) This project has 4 major inside curves to cut around small crystal ashtrays. I did them all with no wastage! Yay for me! :) ;) :) ... another door opens. Or so the saying goes. The way I see it, when one project is completed - that just opens doors for more projects! New windows deserve new stuff - even if it means finding a new place for L.T. Dragon to hang out.
Working on a crystal-dish/architectural-glass transom for the new kitchen window Santa Koala pajama bottoms! WHO KNEW!! Well, I found some. Fleecy & cuddly warm. AND in my size! Of course I bought them.
Also, kid sized hand sanitizer in loop-on holders. (My new normal is to always have some on me.) The cargo ship IS definitely riding higher that before. The cloud looked to me like it was made specially to float above the Breakwater Lighthouse. |
