New display of glass butterflies. Struggling to find an angle to best portray what my eye sees.

More solitary time in my man cave, turning glass scraps into sun-catcher decorations. Finished the second (smaller) leg-lamp & worked on more screwterflies for the swarm. Jan decorated a wire frame to display the leg-lamp.
Morning sun sparkles some of my latest glass creations.
Still early in the morning, Jan & I walked along sections of the new Dallas Road shared pathway. The new bike counter works!. By mid-morning the pedestrian traffic was picking up, so we headed back home. Back to the glass shop for me, to work on a second leg-lamp Christmas decoration. Oh, and to model a new scarf design from Jan's craft room. Then, dark outside - this is what the leg-lamp looks like from inside with the lights on. I have piles of clear architectural glass scraps on hand, and a vague idea of making some wintry/snowflake/icicles/Christmas kind of glass do-dads. No real inspiration, just ponderings. Not impressed with my first attempt to put some pieces together, so I shifted mental gears & decided to try to make a leg-lamp sun-catcher. Totally channeling A Christmas Story (1983 movie).
Butterfly collection is growing. Glass scraps are getting smaller.
Walked to Fisherman's Wharf - nice to see open-air hand wash station in the 'food court' seating area. Went along the waterfront (David Foster Way) to the Lege. Hummingbird posed. Bufflehead pair swam, as did harbour seal. Strange fruit, late flowers, falling leaves of many colors. I've made enough rainbow feathers for now, so I'll switch to butterflies to use up more scraps of glass. I use old screws as the body, thus screw-ter-flies.
But please find one softer than those I make in the glass shop.
:) After craft time we went for a breakwater lighthouse walk. The Breakwater Barge was at quite a tilt as water as being pumped out. Dunno what plans are. I am using scraps of glass that were waste from other projects to make "rainbow feather" sun-catchers, so it is no surprise that the colors go well with the glass rainbow lorikeets. I finished one today and cut out another to finish tomorrow.
Note #1: hockey pucks and lid grippers are among my favorite craft room tools. Note #2: I have often erred and spoken of rainbow lorikeet feathers as rainbow lorikeet flowers because they are just SO colorful and pretty! I made 3 of the stay at home stained glass Rainbow Lorikeets in a sitting posture. Up to now they have just been hanging, unsupported from below. Today, Jan matched a piece of driftwood from her collection to my bird collection. She did a wonderful job & they look marvelous!
Meanwhile down in my cave I'm using some scraps of rainbow colors to make 'feathers' to add even more bling to our sun-room window. Just to be out. Many people are just out for a stroll in the Breakwater District and along the newly completed section of shared pathways along Dallas Road. So many people that I chose to walk across the street from the water. Nobody but me on the old sidewalk on the not-so-scenic route!
