Pebble beach, but it is what we have close to home. Bits of sunrise color. Then inland, through more neighborhood streets.

I know we looked at birds, but I thought that all we saw was avian. When I looked at my pics on the computer I discovered that what I thought was a distant drift-log with cormorants drying wings was actually a group of sea-lions!
Looks like the rest were normal ducks & sandpipers & herons. Forgive me for not focusing on gulls or Canada geese. ;) Amusing myself at Hillside Shopping Centre. The old Sears entrance, soon (?) to be Walmart entrance has a nice wintry/Christmasy mural.
LED wine bottle stoppers in hob-nail glass vases. USB rechargeable. It has been months since I last turned them on. Happy surprise that the charge as held! Un-natural!
Totally natural nature = sunset colors off the balcony. We like our new chairs & benches along our rejuvenated Dallas Road shared pathway, but I heard that tables had been added. We had to see for ourselves. Heavy duty design. I likes it.
Well, we did not get any worms, but we did see the sunrise colors around Mont Baker, and took some bird pictures. And Jan stopped us at the Fairbank Farm market to buy another variety of roasting pumpkin.
I thought I was photographing a pair of ducks, but when I looked at my picks I had 3 different individuals. Mr Harbour Seal looks as confused as I feel!
We walked along the sea-wall, & I was using phone & pocket camera to compare shots. Coming home through the neighborhood there was a nice patch of snowdrops at the base of a tree with nice bracket fungi. One neighbor expressed pleasure at the new president south of us being inaugurated. Old tech. Sorting & culling. Time to deep-six the old super-8 movie camera! Getting used to handling a phone as a camera. Port sights. A bit of rust. Pigeons on a roof. Jan inspects the driftwood inside the breakwater. A local seal. Bull kelp fronds. A sports bus for the Naniamo Clippers. Who knew?? Orca mosaic in the brickworks. Jan's much awaited delivery of her new iPhone happened yesterday, so this morning we are first in line at Shaw when they open today. New internet/TV/phone packages. New Modem & new TV boxes. All WiFi now = more co-ax cables to clutter boxes in the garage. Many challenges getting the home back to rights & everything connected & working (mostly successful). Jan keep her cell number. I got her old phone & my very own phone number (I have been surviving quite nicely without one in Canada, but now it seems I need one to verify 2 stage log-ins!)
I took my first picture on the hand-me-down phone while sitting in my recliner. Morning errands also included a stop at the Root Cellar. R2E - Australian mangoes!!!!! Noice surprise. Sunset from the balcony. Let me introduce screw-flowers!
I had a bunch of heart shaped orange glass jewels, and I put them together with some shop screws to make flowers. Jan suggested they might look good screwed into driftwood, so here's a mock-up to test that theory. |
