A few fewer clouds would have made for an even more dynamic full moon set. Just sayin'. Not complaining. :) It is sometimes said that it is a dog-eat-dog world, but I was not prepared for the butterfly action I captured on video! Our sea-lion experience is in a separate post (as are visits to the Butchart Gardens & The Victoria Butterfly Gardens). A guy in a boat in close to the breakwater actually caught a fish (a rare sight for me). Some diving birds were having a noisy convention, and a large jellyfish displayed nearby.
The breakwater walk is 1.6 km from start to lighthouse & back. Ergo, this is what walking a mile in my shoes looked like today.
:) ;) :) Firey yellow-gold sunrise. Deep yellow jellyfish. Red/purple starfish, urchins, sea-cucumber, & maple-leaf. Blue heron eating green fish. Golden kiwis from Kiwi-land (NZ).
Yep, it was a fair bit blowy out today. It was hard to stand still & brace for steady stills & videos.
What do my wandering eyes perceive? Professional ice hockey on TV. Nothing strange there. But wait! This is an NHL game being played in Melbourne Australia!!!!! Meanwhile, back on the breakwater: Oyster-catcher; Great Blue Heron eating an eel(-ish fish); Jelly-in-motion; and our local otters. |
