Out along the Dallas sea-wall, & back through the neighbourhood. Nice stained glass transom on one of the houses.

Riding across the Blenkinsop Lake boardwalk bridge I had to stop quick, get camera out, & try to capture images of over a dozen turkey-vultures rising on thermals. Turned around at the Lochside softball field - which, by the way, has excellent Shaw-Go WiFi! On the way home I stopped briefly at the shipyard. A the start of the early morning breakwater walk there was a pubic service announcement in the form of an educational display of "Dalasite". By the time we got to the lighthouse, some of the last Swiftsure yacht racers were coming in for a long overdue finish. It was day two of the spot-prawn party & we stopped to sample the chowder from Heron Rock Bistro. Downtown were the 'Awakening Chinatown' festivities, as well as African nations displays in Centennial Park. Lots of activity on the water today, including yachts heading out for pre-Swiftsure race parade. On land, it was all about the sea as well - as a local park presented its version of a spot-prawn festival. Along the harbour paths there was lots of evidence of the upcoming Swiftsure yacht race. Also, the floating spa (Haven) is very close to opening for its maiden season. The walk home, through BHP was highlighted by a GB Heron sharing turtle log with a couple dozen usual inhabitants. Napping baby ducks were real cuties. With a good little telephoto Canon I can see the sign on the new Quality Foods store across the water in Royal Bay! But, being Nature Guy, I am more excited about seeing a rabbit and a hummingbird on the same walk! Nothing like guests with a dog to get us out of the house more than once a day! Thanks Ed & Audrey, & grr-fuff-fuff to Grace. There were lots of Canada geese & goslings by the little lake in Beacon Hill Park. They did not fuss with people being close, but a dog being walked sure got hissed at by a gander!
Pics from morning breakwater walk, James Bay Anglers Boat Ramp, and Royal Beach (Royal Bay).
I did a lot of driving & rubbernecking, but didn't take a lot of photos. We did our normal morning breakwater walk, and then we did neighbourhood walks later as we had dog-sitting duties for part of Sunday.
