High tides & strong winds re-floated many of the logs at the base of the breakwater overnight. Sunup was brilliant. Moon was crystal clear. sea-lions were as skidish as usual.

Another school holiday walk. Otter family entertainment seemed to be too much for a reclusive kingfisher. Remnants of Christmas decorations. Colourful berries and a few flowers, too. A quiet weekday between Christmas & New Year. Peaceful breakwater & neighbourhood walks, feeling mellow. The December full moon, the Cold Moon (also called the Long Night Moon) cooperated with us on our breakwater walk this Boxing Day. We also saw a couple of sea-lions. Their cooperation level was non-existent. Just like usual. The Christmas lights are nice, but lately the natural light displays at dawn have been phenomenal.
Peacocks seem to spend a lot of time waking up and preening before swooping down from their roost trees. I commend them for having more patience than me with my camera. Christmas family dinner at Katy's to day. Saw s few common mergansers, and later some displaying hooded mergansers. The 'blue' bridge raised to let some tugs pass as the Coho was pulling out of the inner harbour. Big blue berries turn out to be Cyprus seed pods. T-rex in a Santa hat is just too cute. Lunch a a new burger chain, Kahuna, was good, but NOT fogy-frugal! |
