Lots of activity in our 'hood around sunset on a Sunday. Eagle & squirrel posed for the camera. Otter was not inclined to sit still. but I did get some decent shots & videos. The Olympic Mountains looked tall & close today!

One of our favorite food trucks just oped up a brick & mortar (literally) shop on the other side of the harbour, so we defied recent custom and walked downtown on a Saturday. (After trembling with anticipation, the first bite sent shivers right through my body!)
Spring lower seasons (yes, plural) have started. We have a succession of different species blooming over many weeks to come. Crocuses & early daffodils are starting and the snowdrops are prime. Cherry tree blossom season is also starting. (Confession: there are a bunch of cherry varieties as well as plums, apples & pears & whatevers, that I lump all together as "cherry" because I don't know the difference!)
Jan shopped Winners, and then we walked through Fan Tan Alley to Chinatown. Meandered around downtown & then followed the harbour walkways home. We had to bundle up against the offshore wind. We came upon Neighbor Jeff, just after he finished polishing the X on the breakwater walkway sundial. (It puts the other numerals to shame, now.) Cherry tree blossom season has started in our neighborhood. The Canada post van has a paint job like I have never seen before.
A couple of different squirrel color variations met in a yard as we walked by. Yes, there were chases. This walk also included Fisherman's Wharf Park and the breakwater. Jan didn't realize how intimidating her bling-job on her mask was, but people tried to give her a little extra room as we passed on the breakwater.
It started off with basic exercise, a neighborhood walk. It was nice out and we kept seeing things we thought photo-worthy. That led to a longer walk, one that worked up an appetite, and a craving. When we got home we took the car out & went for poutine take-away from La Belle Patat. Saxe Point Park was crowded so we carried on to Flemming Beach. That's all. Just a pic of a cute little car beside a parking lot snow-pile. After the 3 day long weekend snow event, we ventured out on errands. The roads are clear, but it will take a few days for the piles & windrows to melt.
