Not great conditions for photographing down though water, but we saw a big red Pacific octopus today. I managed to capture a couple of decent videos.

Interesting day along the breakwater.Still, lowish tides make for good inter-tidal viewing of starfish, urchins, chitons, barnacles & such, but the big ticket feature attraction was the interaction of two harbour seals caught on video. Lots to see off the breakwater this morning. Back home, the racoon family was settling in for a long day of rest. Eerie light in the early morning due to wildfire smoke in the area. Lots of small fishing boats hoping for salmon catches. Low tide offered good views of starfish, but exposed some to predation. Hope that gull had a rough time passing that meal!
We went for a long morning walk downtown today in anticipation of the super special lunch at Quality Foods deli.
NOT what I want to see on my early morning walk in my neighbourhood. Other than that, it was a nice breakwater day. From the breakwater we continued along Dallas Road to Clover Point. Brisk wind, but not as cold as the hoodie pictures might indicate. Return through Beacon Hill Park. The Esquimalt berry patch featured prime fruit and some rusted metal in concrete. The bike ride was 44 km to Luxton Station & back. Videos of some sections of the trails.
